Corrections Policy

We publish retailer-reported fuel prices from the Victorian transparency scheme. When something looks wrong, this page explains how to report it, what we check, and what to expect.

How to report an error

Use our contact form with subject “Price correction” and include the station name, suburb, fuel grade, and the price you observed. Station pages include a “Report a correction” link that pre-fills these details.

Email contact@petrolpricesnearme.com.au if the form is unavailable.

What we verify

Corrections are checked against the Victoria FairFuel Open Data API and retailer reporting records — not crowd votes or unverified submissions. We compare your report with the latest upstream filing and our station catalogue before changing a listing.

Response expectation

We aim to acknowledge correction requests within 24–48 hours on business days. Complex catalogue issues may take longer if they require a data sync or upstream confirmation.

What we can correct

  • Wrong bowser board price after verifying against upstream reporting
  • Incorrect station name, address, or suburb assignment
  • Missing or duplicate station listings in our catalogue
  • Factual errors in editorial or methodology copy

What we cannot correct

  • Loyalty, app-only, or in-store docket discount prices
  • Pump-only price changes that have not yet appeared in Victorian transparency reporting
  • Prices outside Victoria (we only cover VIC transparency data)
